Mentor Teacher Rubrics
To obtain Mentor Teacher status, educators must submit artifacts demonstrating proficiency across all components within Charlotte Danielson’s domains with evidence of distinguished practice in a majority of the components.
The Teacher Quality Panel has identified a select number of Components within each domain as Priority Components (highlighted in yellow on the rubrics). Applicants must demonstrate distinguished practice in these areas. In three of the four domains, candidates can select a Choice Component in which to evidence distinguished practice. While the specific Priority Component may change across the rubrics, the balance between Priority and Choice within each Domain remains the same.
Distinguished Practice
Domain 1: Two Priority and one Choice Component
Domain 2: Two Priority and one Choice Component
Domain 3: Two Priority and one Choice Component
Domain 4: Three Priority Components
Proficient Practice
Educators must link artifacts demonstrating proficiency to all remaining components within each of the four domains.
